Some people used to trust the King and Parliament, thousands of miles over the sea. Now it's judgement time and it's hard to tell if you can trust anyone in the English goverment. Will you stay loyal to those you've known all your life? Or will you join the swelling ranks of your countrymen as a rebel in the name of justice? Will you ride valiantly into battle or would you rather raise funds for your cause? Are you going to run for the Continental Congress?

Shadows of the Past transports you back over two hundred years into America's past. With thousands of options for a character, it's hard not to find a way to get involved. From the lowliest plantation slave to the aristocratic politicians in both the northern colonies and the southern ones, you may build a character to suit your tastes or play a historical one. Rewrite one of the greatest periods of American history and have fun, too. What sort of person are you?

The First Day is Here!

Our site is up, but the bulk of the actual game has still to be constructed. Most of the "Boston" messageboards are up, and roleplaying can begin, but we need members! That's right, we need YOU! Joining is a snap, so please consider it. There are no major in-character event other than the first day planned for June and July...though we might host an out of character Independence Day party. It would take place in the Seven Swans Tavern, an OOC board for members and non-members alike. You don't need a member password to take part in the discussion in most of the out of character boards. It would be appropriate, don't you think? :-}

Once we have a sufficient number of members, larger roleplaying events can begin: roleplaying marathons long into the night, battles and the machinations of the war can be played out when we have enough soldiers and commanders, supporting family members and politicians. We need all characters of every type, so join today!

The guns are all quiet...no fighting until later this month!

Joining Board, Boston RP boards are Now Online

Before joining Shadows of the Past, please, please, PLEASE take the time to read the joining information page and the general rules. It is very important that you respect these regulations so all chaos doesn't break loose. In that case, we'd have to shut down all the boards excepting the OOC board until everything quiets down. The roleplaying environment of Boston, Massachusetts is now online, as well, for current members.

Sister Roleplaying Games

Though the webmaster and board administrator doesn't run 'em, we're compiling a list of roleplaying games that would like to be part of a future webring that we will found in the near future. If you own a roleplaying game and would like to join the webring, please send an email with your name, your game's name, and its index url to: ladycolumbia@hotmail.com. Preferably, use your game's administration email address. Then, add a link to Shadows of the Past on your site and we'll do the same for yours. Together we can add to site traffic and members to all the roleplaying games.
